Archos' 70b E-Book Reader for Pre-order in Europe

Archos 70b e-reader is now available for pre-order in Europe, the Archos 70b. The device is available with a €99.99 price tag and for those wondering, that is roughly $130 in terms of US dollars. And that is important because the Archos 70b was spotted in a FCC filing not that long ago which suggests a US release is
forthcoming.

It has a 7” touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480, WiFi, 4GB of internal storage and the memory can be expanded up to 16GB by SD. 

The device also supports, for video, VOB, MPG, AVI, FLV, RM, RMBV, MPEG-4, MKV and MOV of up to 720p. It can also support audio file formats of WMA, AAC, OGG, WAV, MP3 and WAV. As for photos it supports BMP and JPEG.

The Archos 70b is running Android, though no mention as to which version that is. in addition, it is fairly safe to assume that this will not have Android Market access as a default option, for those who go forward with a pre-order, at present the shipping time is noted as being as soon as the end of the month and as late as January 7th. In other words, not all that long — that is, assuming there are no delays.
