Highly expected Verizon 4G phone HTC thunderbolt’s specs leaked; a few days ago there was a leak of its Image online. Now this leak reveales a dual-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor (MSM8960) under the hood. Elsewhere on the phone, a 5MP front facing camera is on board along with an 8MP rear camera. The microSD slot allows memory to be expandable up to 132GB and an
1800mAh battery powers up the device. The particular processor mentioned hasn’t actually been released by Qualcomm yet, so take it all with a grain of salt. The MSM8960 was displayed at the 2009 CES; the processor is not expected to begin testing until the middle of next year. It would require a miracle for this 28nm processor to be ready in time to be placed in a phone being introduced next week.
The Thunderbolt certainly sounds like a beast of a device, and follows the dual-core precedent being set by RIM and LG. However, HTC stands a good chance at beating them both in the user interface department, seeing as how polished the Sense UI on top of Android is.
Anyway, what specs do you expect from Verizon’s 4G LTE Device? Do you expect the HTC Thunderbolt to be the first 4G phone?
