Boy Genius Reports the first shot of the device, which features a capacitive touchscreen along with the company’s trademark physical keyboard below. The wait for a BlackBerry handset with a capacitive touchscreen sitting above that wonderful QWERTY keypad is over.
This 'BlackBerry is quite attractive in the looks department, and spec-wise, it's a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE device with tri-band UMTS. It also packs a 5 megapixel cam with HD video recording, 4GB of storage, plus 768MB of RAM. The phone will also have WiFi and be 3G hotspot-enabled, and it'll run BlackBerry OS 6.1.
The Dakota is expected to be launching with BlackBerry OS 6.1, so we imagine there will be new features within the mobile Operating System (OS) itself, but details regarding those are not available at this time. What carrier exactly the new Dakota will launch on is up in the air, but it is likely that the device will launch on AT&T sometime in the future. No exact date is available.
