Sprint officially announces HTC EVO Shift 4G; prices $149.99 on two year Contract

Sprint officially announced HTC Evo Shift 4G, it has finally come down from the sky. HTC also introduced their new MiFi Mobile Hotspot Novatel Wireless.

According to some report Best Buy is preparing to launch the device this Friday.  HTC EVO Shift 4G has arrived on Sprint for $149.99, after a $100 mail-in rebate. That is on contract, of course, and the $10 monthly fee for using Sprint's WiMAX service is still required.

HTC Evo Shift 4G running on Android 2.2 features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.6-inch capacitive touch screen, HTC Sense and also features a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture, and 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7630 processor.

Other than that, the phone features the full suite of connectivity options - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS and FM radio - as well as the usual for high-end handset proximity and ambient light sensors plus accelerometer and digital compass. The 1500mAh battery is rated for 6 hours of talk time.

Sprint has placed Sprint TV and Nascar Sprint Cup Mobile on the handset, and is planning to release the HTC EVO Shift 4G to the masses on Sunday, January 9th.

In addition to the Evo Shift 4G, Sprint announced the MiFi 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot from Novatel Wireless. The portable modem can be used with up to five devices and is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux. It also features a microSD expansion slot and GPS and has a rated battery usage time of four hours and 60 hours of standby time.

The MiFi 3G/4G will be available February 27 for $49.99 with a two-year service agreement. Then what are you thinking of? Having a HTC EVO Shift 4G?
