Toshiba is expected to release high-end Tablet running on Android Haneycomb. The unnamed NVIDIA Tegra 2 slate specs a 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 capacitive touchscreen along with twin cameras. Cameras expected to be 5MP; USB and HDMI ports, there’ll be accelerometers and ambient lighting sensors too.
According to the Washington Post Toshiba is still looking to ink a deal with carriers, so no wireless connectivity is built-in at that point, but the company is considering it as a possibility. Toshiba is also planning its own app store, besides Android Market, called Toshiba Places, where it will provide authored content, such as the BookPlace library for Toshiba's BookPlace e-reader app.
The rear panel – which is finished with a rubberized, spill-resistant coating – will be replaceable with different colored alternatives, as well as offering access to the user-changeable battery. The slate itself is slim enough at 0.6", with the decent 1.7 pounds of weight. Toshiba says they will include a battery enough for seven hours of video playback.
We expect more details about the tablet by CES 2011, feel free to share your thought and expectations from Toshiba.
