Google Live Honeycomb Event; Android Honeycomb gets new features


At Live Android Honeycomb Event Google’s Andy Rubin just announced some exciting new features for Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the one of them is that apps built for Android phones can run on Android Honeycomb tablet without any modification.

The Honeycomb’s other features are Mutitasking- means easy access to all open-apps from Home screen, Honeycomb brings a new notification system that pops up with a window in the bottom right corner, it will bring a lot of data including IM from your friends with profile images, and access the running app, if you want to add a 2D hardware acceleration simply add a single line of code.

Honeycomb also has a new engine for powering 3D graphics and supports video calling using Google talk, CNN’s iReport has been included as part of app showing you latest iReport and two capture buttons down left for you to contribute, and upload right away to CNN's website whatever is happening around you. Excitingly web-based Android Market and in-app purchases announced, The in-app purchasing SDK is releasing to devs today and will be "live to users prior to the end of this quarter." although the in-app purchases are coming a bit later. The Android honeycomb has already got Games on board.
