Apple finally opened the wrapper of its new MacBook Pro 2011 version with High-speed Thunderbolt I/O. The new MacBook Pro has a HD camera, faster processor and powerful graphic processor apart from Thunderbolt port .
The Pros are available in 3 models, 13, 15, 17 inches and all of them have the same aluminum unibody, the 13 inch MacBook Pro is powered with Intel’s 2.3 GHz Core i5 or 2.7 GHz Core i7 on Intel's Sandy Bridge platform and features Intel HD Graphics 3000 with 384MB of DDR3 SDRAM, Hard drives start at 320 GB instead of 250 GB.
Whereas 15 and 17 inch MacBook Pros are powered with Intel’s Quad-Core Core i7 processors at a 2.3 GHz fast and AMD Radeon HD Graphics processors with video memory up to 1GB, the smallest available hard drive is now 500 GB instead of 320 GB.
The most important change is the inclusion of the Thunderbolt I/O standard. With two bi-direction channels — both capable of speeds of 10GBS — Apple claims that Thunderbolt is more than 12 times faster than FireWire and 20 times faster than USB 2.0. Thunderbolt also offers native support for Mini DisplayPort and support by way of adapters for DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, and VGA displays. Thunderbolt is also compatible with FireWire and USB devices.
Another change to show with MacBook Pro 2011 is SDXC Memory card slot. The cards are extremely expensive -- Lexar's 64 GB version costs $400, and the 128 GB card costs $700, SDXC is an SD card standard that supports up to 2 TB of storage (these days we're seeing 128 GB) and theoretical transfer rates of 104 MB per second. There is no need of worry since the SDXC slot can support existing SD memory cards as well.
The pricing of the MacBook Pros are as follows the 13-inch Pro’s starting price is $1199, the 15 inch $1799 and 17 inch MacBook Pro’s starting price is $2499. What do you think about the New MacBook Pro?
