AMD Radeon HD 69900 Graphics Card released

AMD released its new AMD Radeon HD6990 graphics card, If you are enthusiastic about gaming and not ready to compromise with an ordinary video card you may decide to get a Radeon HD6990. As the 6000-series replacement for 2009′s ATI Radeon HD 5970, the 6990 boasts a pair of powerful graphics processing units (GPUs), and some of the speediest specs on the market.

It features compute power of 5.1 teraflops, a core clock speed of 830 MHz, 3,072 stream processors, 192 texture units, 64 ROPs, and 4GB of GDDR5 frame buffer running a long a 5-Gbps, 256-bit memory path. A dual-BIOS switch will let you crank that clock up to 880MHz with a corresponding increase in voltage, but don’t expect to see much overclocking headroom above that.

According to PCmag The new AMD Radeon HD 6990 won’t use mch power, it can max out 375 watts of power usage under load and utilizes a new technology called PowerTune that keeps the elctricity usage as low as possible. The 6990 also requires two eight-pin connections from your power supply. but according to some reviews the Radeon 6990 is a massively power-hungry card.

The Radeon HD 6990 will set you back $699 and if you wait for a few days you may meet another card from NVIDIA as response named GTX590 that could satisfy you with a neater performance at all level.
