Standard Micro-USB Charger for Mobile in European comes in next Year

The good news is for people who live in EU. Majority of Mobile phone manufacturers have met an agreement to make unified charger for Mobiles in Europe. So Mobiles in many brands will be
unified the way they carry same charger. microUSB will be the standard charger plug for European mobile phones starting next year.

The European Union first announced their plans in June last year and major phone manufacturers quickly signed the memorandum. A few others signed later on.

As of yet, the agreement is undertaken by such names as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Research in Motion who make the BlackBerry (which most BlackBerry devices already have this port - did RIM see this coming?), Samsung, and even Apple which make the iPhone. What is surprising about the last company is that this may cause the end and death of Dock connector.

Convenience is one thing to look forward to. No more carrying several chargers for each device - just one will do (or even a microUSB cable and a computer). The switch to the microUSB standard has environmental benefits as well, as each year 4,000 tons of old, incompatible accessories get thrown out after the user upgrades.

The first phones complying with the new standard are expected to come out early next year. But we hope that manufacture will make a unified charger for Global needs.
