Most anticipated Motorola XOOM has eventually come down with Google’s entirely Tablet Version Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Now the world has got another iPad killer from Motorola after the Samsung Galaxy Tab. On the first day of Consumer Electronic Show (CES) 2011, Motorola has shown up its Google Android Honeycomb running tablet XOOM. At Motorola press conference at CES, CEO Sanjay Jha introduced the tablet.
The Tablet features features a healthy-sized 10.1-inch capacitive screen with a very high resolution of 1280x800, a 5MP HD camcorder (front-facing cam included) and the mandatory dual-core ARM-based Tegra 2 chipset, which will allow for full 1080p HD video playback.
It also delivers console-like gaming performance on its 1280×800 display, and features a built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting for new types of applications. It also features Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction and delivers access to over 3 million Google eBooks and thousands of apps from Android Market and Adobe Flash 10.1 Player support.
Of the nearly 80 tablets purportedly being announced at this year's CES, Motorola's Xoom is the only one running Google's dedicated tablet OS—all the other tablets announced are running Android 2.1 or 2.2, with promises to upgrade to Honeycomb down the road, but nothing to show yet.
The device will be available with Verizon Wireless in the first quarter of the year, equipped with a good old 3G radio. Don’t be bored with the Term 3G as 4G is the latest just wait, later this year the XOOM will be upgraded to 4G LTE.
Price of the Motorola XOOM wasn’t mentioned by Motorola, The device is expected to get in the Market by Q1 2011.
